WHO promotes integration of CAM into national healthcare systems
At the 67th session of the World Health Assembly (WHA) that took place in Geneva during 19–24 May 2014, WHO’s Traditional Medicine Strategy 2014–2023 was approved. The WHA is the supreme decision-making body of WHO. The strategy aims to build the knowledge base for national policies and strengthen quality assurance, safety, proper use and effectiveness of CAM and traditional medicine through regulation. It also aims to promote universal health coverage by integrating CAM and traditional medicine services into health care service delivery and home care.
